Why these numbers matter

Almost every first meeting opens with the same question: is it worth it? The honest answer is that it depends on the catalogue, the margin and the capacity to execute. But there is market context that helps you decide, and it is public.

We gathered six indicators from independent sources. Each one links to the original study, so you can check for yourself instead of taking our word for it.

61% of European e-commerce GMV goes through marketplaces That's where the demand is. A good site of your own still matters, but on its own it no longer catches most of what Europe buys online. Source: ECDB, 2025
842 mM€ in European B2C e-commerce revenue in 2024 Up 7% on the year before, with Southern Europe growing 9% and Eastern Europe 18%. Source: Ecommerce Europe / EuroCommerce, 2025
36% of the work week spent on manual marketplace tasks Almost two working days a week on repetitive updates. One in five sellers spends half the week fixing listings and repairing data errors. Source: ChannelEngine, 2025 (n=470)
17,5× average GMV among sellers on two or more channels A benchmark across a network of more than a hundred thousand sellers. It's correlation, not causation: bigger sellers tend to be on more channels. Treat it as an indicator, not a guarantee. Source: Mirakl Seller Report, 2026
6 marketplaces per seller, on average And 34% of sellers are already on seven or more channels. Staying on two is now the exception, not the norm. Source: ChannelEngine, 2025
28 days is the median to open a new marketplace From first contact to first sale. With a team dedicated to the process it gets shorter; without one, it drags. Source: Mirakl Seller Report, 2026

And our own numbers? We would rather show them with names and context, in a conversation, than hang unsourced percentages on a page. Ask for the diagnostic and we will talk about real cases in your sector.
